Geena’s Story
A Personal Budget Changed Geena’s Life... Geena is a young woman with a learning disability who has a dream to enroll at college and travel daily on the bus service independently.
Geena never had the opportunity to develop the skillsn ecessary to do this. Now she has a Personal Budget, this gave her the freedom to make this happen. Geena used her Personal Budget to pay for Brian to support her to learn how to use the bus service safely and travel to and from college until she was confident enough to make this journey alone.
Geena now not only travels to college but also travels to visit her family and goes shopping into town. Geena’s personal budget has transformed her life.

Step 1.
You will be assessed by your local authority.
Step 2.
The assessment will then identify the value of your personal budget.
Step 3.
You can begin using your Personal Budget with the support of Lifestyle Brokerage
We’ll meet together over a cup of tea and discuss what you want to achieve with your Personal Budget. We can come to you or you can come to us!

Skills for Excellence out of Adversity Conference - Glasgow January 2011
Lifestyle Brokerage were invited to present a workshop "Going For Brokerage" which outlined the way that Individual Budgets can support a person to maintain and develop further independence whilst offering real choice.
Trixie Bennett, Jayne Marsh and Stephen Johnson presented a brokerage model along with real life examples of the benefits such support can offer.
The workshop was received very positively by all who attended and further information will be available shortly.
